Australian Gymnastics Team at the Paris 2024 Olympics: Schedule and Highlights

Team Overview
Australia’s record-breaking gymnastics team for Paris 2024 comprises 11 women and 2 men. This marks the largest gymnastics contingent in Australian Olympic history. The team will showcase their skills in three disciplines:
Artistic Gymnastics: Featuring six Australians.
Rhythmic Gymnastics: Also featuring six Australians.
Trampoline Gymnastics: With one Australian competitor.
Notably, Tokyo Olympians Lidiia Iakovleva and Emily Whitehead will return for their second Olympic Games, competing in rhythmic and artistic gymnastics, respectively. The remainder of the team will be making their Olympic debuts.
Key Competitors
Brock Batty: At just 17 years and 211 days old, Brock will become the youngest male gymnast to compete in the trampoline event at the Olympics.
- Jesse Moore: The only other male gymnast from Australia, competing in multiple artistic gymnastics events.
Unfortunately, Blake Rutherford, the top-ranked Australian in men’s trampoline qualifying, has been sidelined due to an injury. Additionally, Commonwealth Games champion Georgia Godwin, a two-time World Cup silver medallist, has withdrawn after sustaining an Achilles injury.
Competition Venues and Schedule
The gymnastics events at Paris 2024 will be hosted at two main venues:
Porte de La Chapelle Arena: Rhythmic gymnastics will take place from August 8 to 11.
Bercy Arena: Artistic gymnastics will run from July 27 to August 5, and trampoline gymnastics will occur on August 3.
Australia’s sole Olympic gymnastics medal was a silver won by Ji Wallace in the men’s trampoline at the Sydney 2000 Games.
